Nonesuch Records President
Robert Hurwitz
Announced As Keynote

Robert Hurwitz - Keynote Speaker

Nonesuch Records was founded in 1964 as a Classical label, quickly expanding to World music in 1967. Under the leadership of Robert Hurwitz, who became its President in 1984, Nonesuch has expanded its mission to include artists from a wide range of genres, with a roster that today includes a stellar list of musicians such as Emmylou Harris, Lake Street Dive, k.d. lang, Punch Brothers, Rhiannon Giddens, Robert Plant and The Black Keys, to name just a few.

Hurwitz began his career at Columbia Records after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in history.  He then ran American operations for ECM Records before joining Nonesuch, where he has been for 32-years. The label’s stature continued to grow during that time; among other accolades, Nonesuch artists have won more than 45 Grammy Awards during his tenure, and the Boston Globe has called the label, “an oasis of artistic excitement.”

The FMQB Triple A Conference proudly kicks off Triple A’s 25th year in Boulder at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, at the St. Julien Hotel & Spa in Boulder, CO with The Keynote Interview with Nonesuch Records President Robert Hurwitz, interviewed by WFUV/New York PD Rita Houston. Please join us as Houston and Hurwitz discuss his career, the evolution of Nonesuch over the decades, radio’s role in artist development, and the future of the music industry.
