Green Day

Two documentaries on Green Day are expected to be released in conjunction with their trilogy of albums between late September and the middle of January. Filmmakers Tim Lynch, a producer of Green Day: Bullet in a Bible, and Tim Wheeler, a co-producer and editor of The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights, are creating a documentary on the making of the band's upcoming three albums, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tre!, as well as a second film culled from vintage footage of the band's early days. "It's not going to be the sitting down, head shot of me going, 'We started out blah blah blah'," Billie Joe Armstrong told Billboard.com. "We wanted to get into lifestyles of rock 'n' roll and playing rock n roll and letting the story kind of tell itself rather than create revisionist (history)." Meanwhile, Green Day's new single, "Oh Love," will be released on July 16, and ¡Uno! comes out on September 25.

Def Jam Records confirmed the official tracklist for Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't via Twitter on Monday, and it boasts tons of special guests. Jay-Z and Dr. Dre are featured on the track "3 Kings," Drake and Wale appear on "Diced Pineapples," Omarion sings on "Ice Cold" and Usher appears on the already-released single "Touch ‘N You."  God Forgives, I Don't is due on July 31.

Coldplay have announce a six-issue mini-series of comics based off last year's album Mylo Xyloto. The series will be released by Bongo Comics (publisher of the Simpsons family of comics). In an announcement on the band's website, Coldplay say the creation of the character of Mylo Xyloto came from discussions with their friend, Oscar-winning director Mark Osbourne. Osbourne will appear at San Diego Comic Con this weekend to promote the series. The first issue will be released in conjunction with Comic Con, with the rest of the miniseries arriving monthly starting in February 2013.

After E! News reported on Monday that Adam Lambert has been in talks to join the judges panel on American Idol, Lambert said that was news to him. In an interview with British radio station Capital FM, Lambert tried to downplay the rumors. "I'm just hearing about this today as well and so what a beautiful rumor," Lambert told the station. "Listen, if -- and I say 'if' with a capital I-F -- if they were to approach me and if they were to say, 'We want you to be a judge on the show,' I would love that. I would jump at the chance." The singer also released a statement on Monday reiterating that sentiment, which read, "Idol has an amazing history of introducing great musical talent, and I was very fortunate to have had the Idol stage play a big part in my career. If Idol wants to talk to me about Judging, I'd be more than flattered to have that conversation."

Jane's Addiction have announced a special Lollapalooza after show at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom on Saturday, August 4. They will be joined by special guests Franz Ferdinand, with dubstep pioneers Skream and Benga closing out the late night celebration. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. CST at www.lollapalooza.com. Furthermore, Jane's Addiction will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013. Details on when and where the band will receive their star will be announced soon.

Since rumors have been swirling that Van Halen will perform at next year's Super Bowl halftime show, David Lee Roth decided to address the matter via an open letter on the fansite Van Halen News Desk. "I'm compelled to address the now-rampant rumors that Van Halen is playing the Superbowl... That honor has not been bestowed upon us at this time though it is one we would accept in a NY minute," Roth wrote. "Van Halen's collective memories are – and with all due respect to each and every one of these memories, teeming with been-theres and done-that's, but none include playing at the Superbowl... We are not on Commissioner Goodell's dance card at this time, but we would be most honored to dance the halftime away in New Orleans."

If you are a member of Third Man Records' Vault subscription service, then you will be getting a very special treat from Jack White this quarter. The latest package from the Vault features a vinyl recording of The White Stripes' first-ever concert, recorded at the Gold Dollar in Detroit on August 14, 1997. The soundboard recording includes early renditions of "Screwdriver" and "Lafayette Blues," as well as a cover of the Stooges’ "TV Eye." An accompanying 7″ features a recording of the band’s first-ever live performance taken from July 14, 1997 at the Gold Dollar’s open-mic night. The tracklist includes "St. James Infirmary," "Jimmy the Exploder" and "Love Potion #9."

Carly Rae Jepsen will make an appearance on the season five premiere of 90210, which will air on October 8. According to an announcement released on Monday by CBS Television Studios, Jepsen will perform a song from her upcoming album and play herself as the headliner on a Las Vegas bill that also features former troubled teen Adrianna Tate-Duncan (Jessica Lowndes).

Band of Horses has confirmed that its fourth album, Mirage Rock, will be released on September 18. The follow-up to 2010's Infinite Arms, Mirage Rock is the first Band of Horses record to be produced by Glyn Johns, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year in recognition of his work with The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many more. Band of Horses will spend the summer on the road with My Morning Jacket, road-testing tracks from the forthcoming album.

Run-DMC will perform for the first time since disbanding in 2002 at the 7th annual Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX from November 2-4. Surviving members Joseph "Run" Simmons and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels will headline the main stage. Run-DMC joins a short list of artists already announced, including Atlas Sound, Baroness, Rakim, Lagwagon, The Head and The Heart, David Cross, Bob Mould, Tomahawk and Against Me! The full lineup will be announced on Thursday, July 12.

Blur's body of work has been personally compiled by the band and gathered together in one box set, due for release on July 31. All seven studio albums are collected with over five hours of unreleased material, including 65 previously unreleased tracks and more than twice as many rarities, 3 DVDs, a collector's edition book featuring rare and unseen photos and a new interview with the band, and a special limited edition 7-inch vinyl featuring a track recorded under the band's original name, Seymour. The box will also include a digital download code for the albums and all bonus material. In addition to the 21-disc Deluxe Box Set, all seven Blur studio albums will be available individually, each with a second disc of b-sides, hard-to-find tracks and exclusive bonus material.
