Zac Brown, Frank Ocean Top Sales Tally
July 18, 2012

Frank Ocean
Country group Zac Brown Band earns its second #1 album this week as Uncaged enters the chart with 234,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This gives the band its best sales week yet, and it also tallies the second biggest sales week this year for any country album. Only Carrie Underwood's Blown Away moved more in a week, when it sold 267,000. Making his debut at #2 this week is R&B singer/songwriter Frank Ocean, whose debut studio effort, Channel Orange, shifted 131,000 units, mostly from the iTunes Store. Only about 3,000 of that sum were physical CDs, according to Billboard.com, as Ocean released the critically-acclaimed album a week early via iTunes. Zac Brown Band and Ocean are the lone new debuts in the Top 10 this week.

Justin Bieber's Believe holds down the #3 spot with 45,000, Chris Brown's Fortune is #4 with just under 45,000, and Maroon 5's Overexposed takes the #5 slot with 44,000. Linkin Park's Living Things drops to #6 this week with 37,000 sold, One Direction's Up All Night rises to #7 with 36,000, and Adele's 21 occupies #8 with 35,000. This gives 21 its 73rd week in the Top 10, which is the most for any album by a woman in history. It broke the record held by Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, which had a 72-week run.

Rounding out the Top 10 are Katy Perry's Teenage Dream at #9 with 34,000, and Kenny Chesney's Welcome to the Fishbowl at #10 with 32,000.
