August 6, 2012

Lady Gaga has confirmed her next album will be called ARTPOP. Over the weekend, Gaga posted a picture on her Little Monsters website of the word tattooed on her arm and later tweeted "make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title, *its all in the details* good morning twitter!" This morning, Gaga also announced the first Latin American Born This Wall Ball tour dates, with six concerts in October and November slated for Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

Ke$ha
Producer Dr. Luke says that Ke$ha is "really close" to finishing her next album. Speaking to Billboard, Luke said on the material, the Pop singer's voice is front and center. "She asked for less production tricks and stuff like that this time. There are more guitars on the record now, too; on [Animal], Ke$ha was the one who told me, 'Under no circumstance will I have any guitars on the record.' That wasn't really my call. So we made those [songs] without guitars. This record we're allowed to use a little guitar." Iggy Pop co-wrote the new song "Dirty Love" with Ke$ha, while Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney plays on the album. Nate Reuss of fun. has also collaborated on new material. Dr. Luke told Billboard, "You're going to hear an artist that's grown and is evolving, but it's Ke$ha. She's no choir girl yet."

In an interview last week with Rhythmic CHR WKQI (Channel 955)/Detroit DJ Nick Craig, Eminem said he has lately been keeping busy helping out with the new album from Slaughterhouse, a Hip-Hop supergroup made up of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9". Em told Craig that "I actually started my album, but I haven't fully went in yet because I've been finishing up the Slaughterhouse record. I've kind of been executive producing, producing, coproducing, mixing… very involved." You can hear the whole interview on Craig's page here.

Jane's Addiction have added several west coast dates to their current Theatre of the Escapists tour. The tour will wrap with six shows in California, starting with Snata Cruz on October 17 and ending with a homecoming show in Los Angeles on a date still to be determined.

Stone Sour has dubbed their new album House of Gold & Bones, and it's coming out in October. The band has posted partial album artwork on www.houseofgoldandbones.com with special content that can be unlocked by fans.

Waka Flocka Flame announces his "Triple F Life: Friends, Fans, and Family" Tour, which kicks off in Norfolk, VA on October 2. The lengthy fall tour wraps up November 21 in Atlanta. Waka also recently revealed the tracklist for his upcoming new mixtape, Salute Me Or Shoot Me 4.

Nick Jonas tweeted over the weekend that he could be added to the American Idol judging panel. Jonas wrote, "The rumors are true ... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol" Jonas' name had begun popping up in Idol rumors last month.

Taking Back Sunday will hit the road in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of their first release, Tell All Your Friends. The two-month U.S. tour, which will feature special guests Bayside as main support and a variety of openers along the way, will begin in Cleveland on October 4 and will run through November 23 in New York City. The tour will feature Tell All Your Friends in its entirety as well as other fan favorites.
