Veteran music industry executive Sylvia Rhone has been named President of Sony Music's Epic Records. Rhone has been a part of Sony Music for just over a year, since launching her Vested In Culture label imprint under Sony early in 2013. Vested In Culture is a joint venture with Epic. Rhone will continue to report to Epic Chairman/CEO L.A. Reid.
Reid stated, "Having worked closely with Sylvia Rhone, I’ve witnessed firsthand how she shares a passion for an artists-first culture. I look forward with genuine enthusiasm to the next chapter of Epic Records."
Rhone adds, "I’m honored to have the opportunity to expand my relationship with the talented team and amazing artists at Epic. Rhone was previously President of Universal Motown Records, and also served as Chairman/CEO of the Elektra Entertainment Group.
