Harry Styles Talks Solo Career, Releases New Single

Former One Direction member Harry Styles released his anticipated first solo single "Sign of the Times" this morning. The 5+ minute track drew immediate comparisons to artists such as David Bowie and Keane.

Styles hasn't announced his album yet, but he did sit down with BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw to discuss his upcoming new material. Styles revealed he had played a few new songs for his pal Ed Sheeran. Styles said that Sheeran "didnít say that he didnít like any but he did like one song that isnít on the album. So I did have a bit of a minute of like hmmm no butÖ"

Discussing "Sign of the Times," Styles said, "I think itís nerve-racking in that Iíve only played it to like 10 people in a room. I try and not be there if Iím playing itÖ my Mum liked it which was handy." He also said his stepdad had a unique question about the record after hearing the entire album. "I played the album to them the first time and thereís one song thatís got a vocal effect on it, the whole album finished then my stepdad said ĎIíve one question, where did you get the duck from, how did you get a duck in the studioí then I was like, that was me, thanks."

Styles will perform on Saturday Night Live next Saturday, April 15 with Jimmy Fallon hosting.
