Quick Hits: Incubus, The Rolling Stones, Bobby Valentino, 50 Cent, The Flaming Lips, Joan Osborne
March 23, 2007

Incubus

Incubus has been forced to postpone the rest of their European tour, as well as their upcoming South American trek, due to an injury to guitarist Mike Einziger's hand. His doctors have suggested surgery, which will require 8-12 weeks of recovery. Incubus had been slated to play France this week, and has dates slated until mid-May. The rescheduled shows will be announced soon.

Mick Jagger announced via a Web cast yesterday that The Rolling Stones will add 27 more European tour dates to their seemingly endless Bigger Bang tour. The new leg of the tour kicks off in Belgium on June 5 and will wind up in London on August 21. Jagger also revealed that a four disc, live DVD set is on the way this spring, filmed at various stops on the Bigger Bang tour.

After R&B singer Bobby Valentino's second album was leaked last year, he decided to start from scratch and write a whole new record. That album, Special Occasion, will be out on May 8. Valentino told Billboard, "I wanted people to know I have a lot of hot records. So, I went back in and gave them a whole new album, and for those people who wanted to hear those Internet songs, they got that too."

50 Cent's next movie role will be in the racing flick Live Bet. The film, which was announced last spring, will begin filming this summer according to Variety.

Rumors are flying that a musical is in the works based on The Flaming Lips' album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. Singer Wayne Coyne has confirmed that discussions have taken place, with reports suggesting West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin may be involved in the project.

Joan Osborne has found a surprising new label home for her new album, Breakfast In Bed: Time Life. "We've all seen the Time Life ads on late-night TV," Osborne told Billboard. "This is a great way to reach people who don't necessarily seek out new records." The R&B and Soul-influenced record is due on May 22.
