 Snoop Dogg
| After trying to gain entry into the U.K., Snoop Dogg and Diddy were forced to cancel the British leg of their One Love Peace Tour when British authorities would not give Snoop a visa to enter the country. Before canceling the shows, organizers had said the English dates would go on without Snoop, but soon changed their minds. The tour will now resume with a pair of shows in Dublin on March 31 and April 1. Snoop told MTV News International that he was disappointed that he would not be able to spread his message of peace to his U.K. fans. "With my mic and my presence I can reach kids that the politicians can't and tell them to stop the violence," he said. "I think if people could hear me saying this they'd see I'm about peace, love and harmony. I can't control my drugs and gangbanging past. People can see that I now have a different identity and that I've changed my lifestyle around completely... I'm here to perform and give people what they want. To be a peace figure. Me and Puffy come from a background where with the East Coast and the West Coast, there were a lot of differences in the hip-hop community. But now we want to go around the world and show positive examples in the U.K."
A Manhattan criminal court judge has decided to rescind a plea deal she had offered to Busta Rhymes last month that would have kept him out of jail on two assault charges. Rhymes had been mulling the offer, which included probation, community service, anger-management training and a series of lectures to troubled youth. However, the judge decided to pull the deal off of the table after Busta was arrested in late February for driving with a suspended license, says MTV News. As a result, the Rapper must now stand trial on the two assault charges and the trial's start date is tentatively set for May 8. The two charges stem from the December 26 assault of his former driver in a dispute over money, and another incident when Busta allegedly assaulted a fan who spit on his car in New York last summer.
Velvet Revolver have announced initial tour dates in support of their upcoming album, Libertad. Thus far, the band will play seven dates in South America in April, eleven shows in North America in May and a number of European festivals beginning in June. In related news, frontman Scott Weiland and his wife Mary were in a handful of high-profile brouhahas over the past few days. On Saturday, the couple had an argument at a California hotel, where Mary Weiland was accused of vandalizing two rooms and causing hundreds of dollars in damages. And yesterday, she was arrested for setting fire to almost $10,000 worth of Weiland's clothes outside their home.U2 guitarist The Edge is auctioning off his favorite guitar, a 1975 Gibson Les Paul he has used for most of his career, to raise money for Music Rising, the organization he helped found which is dedicated to helping musicians who lost their instruments in Hurricane Katrina. Almost 200 other items are also being auctioned for Music Rising, including a saxophone autographed by Bill Clinton and items from the other members of U2. The second episode of Linkin Park's LPTV has been posted on YouTube at www.youtube.com/linkinparktv. The newest edition features backstage footage from the 2003 edition of the Project Revolution tour.

All hell will break loose when the unholy team of Marilyn Manson and Slayer hit the road for a summer tour together. The trek is set to kick off July 25 on the east coast and will hit some 25 cities before wrapping in early September on the west coast. A full, confirmed schedule will be announced shortly. Manson and Slayer will each play full sets, and two support bands, yet to be determined, will open all shows. Manson's next album, Eat Me, Drink Me, is due in June, while Slayer is still touring in support of last year's Christ Illusion. Bloc Party have added another leg of North American tour dates in support of A Weekend In The City. The new dates begin in Pompano Beach, FL on May 27 and wrap up in San Diego on June 16.
As Shadows Fall gets ready to release their next album, Threads Of Life, on April 3, the band's new video for "Redemption" made its debut as MTV2's "Unleashed" clip of the day on Monday. Today, Shadows Fall is the featured band on MTV2's "The Drop," which can be found at MTV2.com. Meanwhile, the band is currently on tour with Stone Sour and Lacuna Coil as part of the Jagermesiter Music Tour. The All-American Rejects will be given the ASCAP Vanguard Award at the 24th annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards on April 18. Other artists slated to be honored at the event include The Fray, Melissa Etheridge, Kelly Clarkson, Jermaine Dupri and Nick Lachey. Porcupine Tree will release their newest album, Fear Of A Blank Planet, on April 24. The band has announced a month of North American tour dates beginning in Seattle on May 8. Additionally, singer Steven Wilson recently released a new album from his side project Blackfield, simply titled Blackfield II.
