Maroon 5, Ozzy Debut On Sales Chart
May 30, 2007

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 pushed aside Linkin Park to take over the top of the Soundscan sales charts this week. It Won't Be Soon Before Long, the band's long-awaited follow-up to Songs About Jane, moved just under 429,500 copies in its first week in stores. As proof that digital sales continue to become an important factor, It Won't Be Soon... broke a record (set just last week by Linkin Park) with 102,000 copies sold digitally.

The Prince of Darkness debuts at #3, as Ozzy Osbourne's first new album in six years, Black Rain, sold over 151,000 copies. Young Jeezy's U.S.D.A. collaboration came in at #4 with Cold Summer, followed by The Used at #5 with Lies For The Liars.

Linkin Park slid to #2, with another 197,700 copies sold of Minutes To Midnight. The rest of the top ten is rounded out by Daughtry, Michael Buble, Carrie Underwood, Avril Lavigne and Ne-Yo.

Other notable debuts for the week include the soundtrack to Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End at #14, The Bravery with The Sun And The Moon at #24, a new Beach Boys compilation at #40 and Rancid member Tim Armstrong's Ska-tinged solo album, A Poet's Life, at #59.
