Madonna Announces "Sticky & Sweet Tour"
May 8, 2008

Madonna

Following the #1 debut for Madonna's new album Hard Candy, the Material Girl announced she's ready to pack up and take on the material world. The "Sticky & Sweet Tour" will kick off August 23 in Wales and proceed to make numerous stops at major European venues through September.

The North America portion of the tour kicks off October 3 in East Rutherford, NJ and ends in Miami at Dolphin Stadium on November 26. Though no dates have been announced, Madonna and crew are also preparing to play for her fans in Mexico and South America later this year.

The "Sticky & Sweet" tour marks Madonna's first expedition with partner Live Nation, who earlier this year signed a deal with the chart topping queen for millions and millions (and millions) of dollars. Live Nation is producing the tour and has Madonna making stops in several cities that she has not performed in over 15 years. The tour will be directed by long time creative collaborator Jamie King, while Kevin Antunes takes the musical directing reins.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at different times in the coming weeks. Prices for the shows vary drastically, ranging anywhere from $55 to $350.

Currently Hard Candy is enjoying the #1 album spot in 27 countries.
