WBUZ/Nashville PD Troy Hanson was recently promoted to OM of Cromwell's Nashville cluster with the launch of CHR WPRT (The Party). Hanson has also signed a new multi-year deal to stay with the cluster. GM Tincy Crouse says, "Troy is a vital part of our Nashville operation overseeing all phases of On-Air and our new interactive marketing initiatives. We are delighted to have Troy leading our team into the next decade."
What's up with Bubba The Love Sponge? FMQB was alerted to be ready for an announcement on Monday morning. There has been speculation that Bubba may be leaving Sirius XM to broadcast solely on terrestrial radio. When asked about the possibility, Bubba's PR person replied, "We don't respond to speculation. When Bubba has news, he'll talk about on it on his two daily radio shows." So, stay tuned for a Monday morning announcement.
KROQ/Los Angeles has announced the lineup for night two of its annual Almost Acoustic Christmas, set for December 14 at the Gibson Ampitheatre. Appearing on the bill are: The Cure, The Killers, Death Cab For Cutie, Paramore, Franz Ferdinand, Scott Weiland, Snow Patrol and Vampire Weekend.

Jonathon Brandmeier, morning host on Chicago Classic Rocker WLUP, takes another stab at TV, reports the Chicago Tribune. Brandmeier has two pilots set to air Almost Live…Starring Jonathon Brandmeier on NBC’s WMAQ on 12/6 and 12/13. This is Brandmeier’s second crack at TV in the Windy City, with 1991’s Johnny B… On The Loose being the first.
Krissy Taylor is named morning co-host at CHR WKDD/Akron. Taylor was most recently MD/midday host at CHR WAKZ/Youngstown. Taylor will continue to handle voicetracking duties at CHR sister stations WLKT/Lexington (weekends) and WAKS/Cleveland (middays).
Riley Knight joins CHR KQID/Alexandria as morning co-host and midday talent, as well as handle Promotion Director duties.
