FMQB has learned exclusively that Atlantic Broadcasting is launching a new CHR/Dance station in Atlantic City this weekend, as Modern Rock WJSE will become WWAC (WILD 102.7).
"We are very excited to debut the markets first high energy station in the party capital of the North East, Atlantic City," said Atlantic Broadcasting’s John Caracciolo. World Famous DJ Vic Latino, also part of the Atlantic team, adds, "There is a huge hole in this market for this music, we have created a radio station that is exciting, fun and local, this is what radio used to be."
Atlantic is launching an extensive marketing campaign over all of South Jersey, with many announcements in the next few weeks of WILD 102.7 live broadcasts, appearances and concerts. The new format will debut at 9:55 p.m. tomorrow night, after a simulcast of the world famous Grucci Fireworks show from the boardwalk.
In addition to the new format, WILD 102.7 will also debut a brand new signal. "We have invested a significant amount of money to improve the signal of 102.7 FM, moving the antenna into downtown Atlantic City and adding all new digital transmission equipment, this will be one of the best FM signals in the market," said Mike Ferriola, the group’s Director of Engineering.
