Nikki Nite Named Station Manager/PD At KDND & KBZC/Sacramento
October 3, 2012

Nikki Nite

Entercom promotes Nikki Nite to Station Manager and PD of CHR KDND (107.9 The End) & Hot AC KBZC (Star 106.5)/Sacramento. Nite is currently PD of sister Entercom Hot AC KAMX (Mix 94.7)/Austin and will segue to Sacramento later this month. She replaces Dan Mason, who was recently named PD of WODS (103.3 AMP Radio)/Boston.

Nite told FMQB, "I’m really excited for the opportunity. The End is a great heritage Top 40 station and Dan’s done an amazing job with it and I’m excited to continue that trend. There are some incredible opportunities with STAR that I’m anxious to explore. I immediately hit it off with [Sacramento VP/GM] John Geary and I feel our management styles are an excellent match. I’m very excited to get there and work with the entire team. Everybody I’ve had the opportunity to meet thus far has been fantastic and I can’t wait to get started. I also want to sincerely thank the Austin management team of [Market Manager] Alan Kirshbom and [VP of Programming] Cat Thomas, as well as Entercom SVP of Programming Pat Paxton."

Nite has a rich history of programming which includes her current three year stint in Austin where she started as APD and was promoted to PD. She spent just over three years in Dallas where she was recruited by CBS to re-brand the struggling KVIL as "The New 103.7 Lite FM," and the station proceeded to jump from sixth to third with W25-54. While in Dallas, CBS took advantage of her CHR experience and had her launch MOViN 107.5. Prior to Dallas, Nite had her first round with Entercom at WFBC/Greenville, NC where she guided the CHR to #1 21 out of 26 ratings periods.

There isn’t a definitive official starting date for Nite but she’ll have periodic visits to the market and certainly be in place by the end of the month, if not sooner.
