The FCC is formally asking for public comments on Liberty Media's application to take over control of SiriusXM Satellite Radio. In a public notice, the Commission said that any parties interested in commenting on Liberty's recent application must file comments by November 1, with any responses to these comments filed by November 20.

In recent months, Liberty has gradually increased its share of SiriusXM stock and is mere percentage points away from crossing the 50 percent mark. In August, Liberty asked the FCC to approve its plan to take control of SiriusXM.
