Cumulus Media announces that it is purchasing Religion WFME/Newark-New York from Harold Camping's Family Stations. The price of the deal was undisclosed. WFME gives Cumulus its third station in the New York metro area. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2012, at which time Cumulus will reveal its plans for the format.
     "This strategic acquisition of our second FM in the nation's largest market will enable us to provide compelling new programming for our listeners and a powerful marketing vehicle for our advertising partners," stated Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey.

Resonate Hawaii debuts a new Hot AC format on KHWI/Holualoa, The Wave at 92 FM. Effective next Monday (10/22), the format will also air on KHBC/Hilo.

After close to 14 years at Modern Rocker KNDD (107.7 The End)/Seattle, APD/MD/midday host Andrew Harms is exiting, effective November 2. Bryce will fill in as interim midday deejay.

CHR WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia announces its 2012 Jingle Ball concert, set for Wednesday, December 5 at the Wells Fargo Center. Romeo officially announced the first three performers for Jingle Ball 2012 on Monday: Justin Bieber, PSY and Cher Lloyd. He will announce more performers today, Wednesday and Thursday at 5:20 p.m. "Q102’s Jingle Ball is a holiday staple in Philadelphia and a concert our audience looks forward to year-round," said Q102 PD Stan Priest. "Our listeners anticipate this event to experience live performances by the most talented artists and to discover new artists. We’re excited to release the rest of the lineup and get the listeners pumped up for the main event."

Q102 sister Clear Channel CHR WKXS (KISS 108)/Boston also announced the details of its own 2012 Jingle Ball, which will be held Thursday, December 6 at the TD Garden. Earlier today, KISS 108’s Matty in the Morning officially announced the lineup, which includes Justin Bieber, The Wanted, Karmin, Bridgit Mendler, Cher Lloyd, Ed Sheeran, Alex Clare, Train and Timeflies.

Clear Channel Modern Rock KDGE/Dallas announces its 2012 Holiday concert, How The Edge Stole Christmas, set for December 14 at the Verizon Theatre. Silversun Pickups, fun., Metric, Grouplove, Passion Pit, The Joy Formidable and IAMDYNAMITE will all perform.
