CHR WDZH/Detroit morning show co-host Buck "Buck Head" Wise exits leaving co-host Coop to fly solo as the host of the aptly named The Coop Show.

CHR/Rhythmic KRPT/San Antonio makes the switch to Classic Country as K-BUC.

The syndicated JohnJay and Rich morning show can now be heard on CHR KHKZ/McAllen-Brownsville and CHR/Rhythmic KKMY/Beaumont-Port Arthur.

At AC WBEB/Philadelphia, Tiffany Hill exits the morning show. Midday host Jenn Ryan will slide into Hill's role in mornings with Michael Chew. Night host Andrea Duffy will move up to middays, while Jessie Jordan handles nights for now.

Low Power FM Triple A WLFM-LP (87.7 Cleveland's Sound)/Cleveland names Rock radio vet Kim Monroe as its new PD. Monroe will also be heard on-air at Cleveland's Sound. She was most recently heard at SiriusXM.

Following last week's announcement that Clear Channel plans to offer $500 million in notes, due in 2021, in a private offering, Fitch Ratings has assigned a 'CCC/RR4' rating to the company. Fitch notes that this rating refelects the expectation "that the enterprise value of the company will be maximized in a restructuring scenario (going concern), rather than a liquidation." Fitch also adds that its ratings concerns "center on the company's highly leveraged capital structure, with significant maturities in 2016 (approximately $10 billion); the considerable and growing interest burden that pressures FCF; technological threats and secular pressures in radio broadcasting; and the company's exposure to cyclical advertising revenue. The ratings are supported by the company's leading position in both the outdoor and radio industries, as well as the positive fundamentals and digital opportunities in the outdoor advertising space."

Arbitron says it will release February Week 2 PPM ratings for Boston and Providence, as the snowstorm that hit those markets earlier this month did not affect the ratings metrics significantly. A note to Boston and Providence subscribers reads, "In light of the snowstorm that struck your markets starting on February 8, Arbitron has reviewed In-Tab and other performance metrics for Week 2 of the February PPM report period (February 7-February 13). We have determined that these metrics support the release of Week 2 Weeklies data. We, therefore, plan to release PPM Weeklies data for February Week 2 for all markets as scheduled. Week 2 will also be included in all PPM February 2013 monthly reports."

A recent post in Jacobs Media's "JacoBlog" about the launch of Nash FM and its difficulty in corralling its social media accounts has led to the debut of a new Jacobs Media service, Smart Launch. Spearheaded by social media strategist Lori Lewis, the company will offer a 30-day program to ensure that new station debuts go off seamlessly – socially. It will be available to broadcasters launching new stations as well as to those defending against a debut from another station in the market. Lewis says, "I am excited to be able to work with companies to make sure that everything’s in place socially on Day One.  I’ll then personally work with a station’s social accounts to welcome fans, connect with new listeners, handle competitive threats, and take full advantage of the social sphere."
Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs notes, "Radio pays a lot of attention to the meat and potatoes of a launch – testing the music, production, sales support, and marketing. But too often, the all-important social assets are on a back-burner or not accounted for at all. Smart Launch will give new stations an important advantage." Broadcasters interested in Smart Launch can contact Paul Jacobs at Jacobs Media for more information.

Shazam announces it has surpassed 300 million users worldwide, while also unveiling a new, redesigned app for iPad and Android tablets. "The number of Shazam users and their level of engagement continue to grow rapidly. We now have over 300 million Shazamers globally with an increasing proportion of whom use our app on their iPad or Android tablet devices to interact with television. This new version of Shazam optimizes discovery, engagement, transactions and exploration in a tablet environment," said Andrew Fisher, Shazam CEO. "It’s the most efficient way to experience more of the media around you whether you are in your home or in any other environment throughout the world."
