NextRadio App Shows FM Listening Via Cell Phone Is Up
March 17, 2014
NextRadio and TagStation have released the latest update on the FM Radio app for smartphones and its increased growth. So far, the app has garnered over 240,000 downloads. More than 7,700 FM radio stations have been tuned to using the app, with over 190,000 hours of listening through NextRadio. The app also has a 4.1 out of 5 user rating on the Google Play Store.
NextRadio has been tracking three different metrics since November, and its latest blog reports that the average number of stations tuned per day is up 43 percent in February since the November metrics. Also, average minutes listened per day is up 62 percent since November, and average total sessions per day is up 76 percent.
"The narrative to this story is that we're seeing big leaps in these metrics month over month, that growth has accelerated significantly starting in January, and that simply means we're adding a lot of new users every day and they are returning more frequently to listen," reads the TagStation blog. "We hope that your takeaway as broadcasters is that this growth in NextRadio listening is benefiting everybody. Your listeners have another way to hear you, and from the looks of things, they're taking advantage of it!"
