Marketron and Jelli Partner to Enable First Integrated Supply Side Platform For Radio
April 3, 2014

Marketron, a leading provider of business software solutions for the media industry, and Jelli, the first programmatic advertising platform for the $40 billion global radio market, announced today the planned integration of the Jelli RadioSpot Ad Server with Marketron’s Mediascape open platform. The strategic partnership will allow stations to manage the sale of inventory directly to programmatic buyers from within the Marketron solution’s interface.  As part of the agreement, Marketron will license Jelli’s RadioSpot Supply API to enable Marketron’s Mediascape open platform to programmatically price, package and sell inventory through RadioSpot.

The integration marks the first time a programmatic platform for broadcast radio advertising has been directly connected via APIs to a leading radio traffic system, accessible through a web-based open platform. By pairing the real-time ad serving and reporting capabilities of the RadioSpot Ad Server with the Mediascape platform, Jelli and Marketron are creating a cutting-edge supply-side platform that will ultimately increase revenue opportunities for radio stations by making it easier for advertisers to buy and run ads.

"Marketron has a long history of first moves in media software and we are very proud to offer this first to our customers,” said Jeff Haley, President and CEO, Marketron. “Making radio ads easier to buy is an important milestone for the industry, and we are very pleased to partner with Jelli and make that happen for our customers."

Jelli’s patented RadioSpot technology significantly increases efficiency, accountability and transparency for broadcast radio advertising, instantly serving broadcast ads on radio stations across the country and enabling the stations to sell to buyers that use programmatic buying technology.  The integration with the Mediascape platform will allow local stations to seamlessly package, price and control the sale of their inventory to these buyers from within their existing traffic software. The Mediascape open platform is unique in the industry, in that it provides the only open architecture approach for media.

“Jelli’s RadioSpot™ transforms the network radio market giving broadcasters the tools to better compete in today’s ad marketplace,” said Mike Dougherty, Jelli co-founder and chief executive officer. “With marketers moving so quickly to programmatic buying, the opportunity to partner with Marketron ensures that radio will be included in the planning mix for this new generation of ad buyers.”

Jelli is the newest partner on the Mediascape platform, and the strategic partnership is evidence of the rapid growth of the open-architecture approach that Marketron is offering.  The new service from Marketron and Jelli will be available in Fall 2014.

“Mediascape’s recent and rapid adoption amongst solution partners is a testament to the potential for an interconnected industry,” said Tony Gaughan, CTO and SVP Products, Marketron.  “We are excited to announce this innovative new partnership between two cutting-edge cloud-based systems, and look forward to the streamlined business processes that our customers will experience.”
