Urban AC WVAZ (V103)/Chicago brings in Chris Michaels to host Quiet Storm, Sunday-Thursday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Michaels most recently was the longtime host of Whispers in the Dark on sister Urban WGCI. Additionally, DJ Moon Dawg joins WGCI Monday-Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight. He previously worked part-time as an on-air personality and DJ during the weekends.

NRG Media, LLC announces the completion of the change in Equity Investors in NRG Media, LLC. Solidifying the new partnership between the Midwest-based media company and Cyrus Capital Partners, an investment management company that actively invests in debt and equity securities on a global basis. Cyrus has approximately $4 billion in assets under management and its investor base is comprised of sophisticated long term institutional and high net worth investors.

A bipartisan group of nine members of the House of Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors of a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act is now currently co-sponsored by a coalition of 215 Members of the House and 14 Senators. The resolution will achieve a majority of support in the House of Representatives with the co-sponsorship of an additional three Members of Congress. The members of the bipartisan group adding their support to the Local Radio Freedom Act are Reps. Michele Bachmann (MN-6), Kerry Bentivolio (MI-11), Chris Collins (NY-27), Doug LaMalfa (CA-1), Vance McAllister (LA-5), Beto O'Rourke (TX-16), Robert Pittenger (NC-9), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-27) and Austin Scott (GA-8).
