David Letterman has been called on to replace Neil Young at this weekend's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to induct Pearl Jam. A statement released by the Hall says that Young will be unable to attend due to illness. Letterman, a longtime fan of the band, will appear this Friday to do the honors. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place in Brooklyn this Friday, April 7.
The Roskilde Festival is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and has revealed this year's massive lineup. The festival runs from June 24-July 1 in Roskilde, Denmark and will be headlined by Foo Fighters, The Weeknd and Arcade Fire. Other acts performing include A Tribe Called Quest, The Lumineers, Lorde, Solange, The xx, Blink-182, Halsey and Rag'N'Bone Man.
To promote their upcoming album Humanz, Gorillaz are teaming with Sonos for a series of "Spirit House" pop-up events in three cities. The virtual homes are described as "an immersive, high fidelity experience" with "exclusive music and visuals through physical installations and projection mapping technology." The Spirit House will open in Brooklyn from April 21-23, then move to Berlin from April 28-30 and wind up in Amsterdam on May 6. Fans can RSVP for free entry at sonos.com/gorillaz. Humanz will be released on April 28.
